Honey Mushrooms 1Dec08 |
Honey mushrooms are commonly found on living tree trunks and on dead stumps. |
|||
This is the first time I've observed them growing on this particular stump.
The stem ring just below the cap is a characteristic of this particular wild mushroom. |
|||
They emerge, spead their caps wide to release their spores, then start to decay.
Growing so close to the road and on a curve, most passerbys won't notice them.
