Wet Forest - Happy Lichen!
21 September 2013
Brief showers instantly revived forest lichen.
Numerous varieties populate every inch of this tree's bark.
Ochrolechia subpallescens - a fascinating lichen variety.
Yep, it's a lichen, but you have to look very carefully to see it.
The wet forest seemed to breathe with renewed life.
Fallen leaves, displaced lichen littered the forest floor.
Rain soon stopped, clouds parted, afternoon sunlight filtered through the forest.
Sing a song of Autumn!
