Annual Sulfur Polypore
August 2012
Hmmm, looks like it's going to be an early Autumn.
Historically, it is mid-September before a sulfur polypore emerges on this stump.
This particular polypore appears to show unusual growth development.
These halves could expand in different directions.
These fleshy nodules will lift and expand at a rate of 1-2 inches
per day over the next 10 days or so.
Those hurrying past won't even notice.
